Two ‘cheeky’ Riviera motor yachts spending time together at Chance Bay in north Queensland’s Whitsundays. This is Living: Christmas Day 2021 is the title of this month’s winning photo submitted by Cheryl Lamb and featuring the family’s Riviera 47 Platinum Flybridge, Cheeky Blue II. “We were on holidays in the Whitsundays for two weeks with our friends Russell and Sarah, who have our old boat (a Riviera 37 Flybridge) Cheeky Blue. We celebrated Christmas Day 2021 tied up together in the beautiful Chance Bay.”
Cute and funny, all rolled into one, describes this image of Captain Daisy at the helm of Rivabella, a Riviera 40 Flybridge, on Lake Macquarie, north of Sydney. “Our girl loves boating,” says Megan Kennedy who submitted the photo for all the Riviera family to enjoy.
Riviera motor yachts are made for boating and while this classic 37 Flybridge, Chill Out, is enjoying a well-earned rest as the sun sets on St Bees Island near Mackay in north Queensland, this photo was taken after an epic adventure up Australia’s east coast. Thanks to Brett Maxwell for submitting this entry, titled Whitsunday Sunset.
“We took Chill Out from Lake Macquarie in NSW to the Whitsundays and up to Bowen,” says Brett.
“We left in June and returned in November 2021. It was our first trip past Brisbane and was an awesome adventure that we plan on repeating in 2023. We used 11,582 litres of diesel for 223.8 total engine running hours. We survived a tornado in Mackay and met lots of new friends. Our Riv performed perfectly.”
Ensenada Sunset is the title of this entry taken aboard Seaclusion, a 45 Flybridge. Thanks to Brian Stauffer for this entry which was taken at Ensenada Marina in Mexico. Brian took the photo while on a two-week trip from Florida and through the Panama Canal before finally heading home to Newport Beach in California.
Peter Langford set a colourful pace as he powered his Riviera 39, Samedi, from Partridge Island to Quarries Bay on Bruny Island in southern Tasmania’s Channel. Peter decided to add an underwater light show to the run as the early evening was setting in.
Perfect boating conditions in tropical North Queensland inspired this photo of complete isolation and serenity aboard Cheeky Blue, a Riviera 37 Flybridge. Taken at Backnumbers Reef, north-east of Townsville, the photo is titled All in a Day’s Work. For Sarah Newman, who submitted this entry, enjoying the clear, calm waters at the reef was among the many highlights of the trip.
Shane and Sarah Duncan are looking forward to time well wasted aboard this classic Riviera M290 that they recently purchased. Time Well Wasted, of course, is the name of the boat pictured here at Loch Sport in Central Gippsland on Victoria’s east coast.
