Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst looks back on a year that changed the way we live, work and play and a year of achievement for Riviera.
Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst
Riviera has charted a steady course over the past year, navigating through the many challenges we faced together to emerge stronger than ever in 2021.
As difficult as these times have been, it has been a year of progress for Riviera.
We are extremely fortunate to have continued handcrafting motor yachts and delivering them to new owners around the world from our state-of-the-art facility on the Gold Coast.
In doing so, Riviera at all times has prioritised the safety of our staff, contractors, suppliers and representatives.
It is with great pride that we acknowledge the efforts of the Riviera team members who are passionate about creating our world-class motor yachts for our ever-growing Riviera family of motor yacht owners, their families and friends.
We have been humbled by the incredible demand for our motor yachts. This has resulted in the largest forward orders ever recorded in our company’s 41-year history.
Riviera has never been stronger as we look ahead to this year and beyond.

The next phase of a $10 million capital works program is progressing for Riviera’s 16.8-hectare boatbuilding facility on the Gold Coast
This year we are progressing the next phase of our $10 million capital works program to enhance and expand Riviera’s boatbuilding capacity whilst always focused on handcrafting the finest motor yachts that are acclaimed the world over.
In 2020, Riviera celebrated 40 years of evolution with the release of three new models in the 505 SUV, the 64 and 50 Sports Motor Yachts. We also introduced new expressions of the 72 Sports Motor Yacht and the Belize 54 Daybridge.
In 2021, that evolution continues with the announcement of the new Riviera 645 SUV and the new flagship of our collections, the 78 Motor Yacht.
This year, Riviera enjoyed a hugely successful Palm Beach International Boat Show. In May, at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, we showcased our largest Australian display for 2021. It coincided with a return of the Riviera Festival of Boating, a family, fun and boating education event exclusive to our motor yacht owners.
All this could not have been possible without the support given to our Riviera team by the many suppliers who have maintained our global supply channels for parts, materials and services. This has allowed us to continue building motor yachts throughout this period. Last year we handcrafted 100 Riviera motor yachts and this year we will create 120 yachts.
Looking ahead we have invested further in training the master craftspeople of the future and building on our team culture that is founded on excellence.
The 800-strong Riviera team is passionate about creating world-class motor yachts
