Riviera has completed the 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show with significant achievements that included a world premiere, the announcement of a new era of Riviera motor yacht design, an extended warranty program, the welcoming of more than 25 new Riviera yacht owners and being awarded the industry’s Exporter of the Year.
Accompanying the company’s largest motor yacht showcase for 2021, was the ninth Festival of Boating where signature social and educational events brought the Riviera family together.
Owing to travel uncertainty for New Zealand Riviera owners coming to the Gold Coast in May, Riviera’s New Zealand representative R Marine Flagship hosted its own boat show in Auckland, warming up Riviera enthusiasts with an outstanding three-day event with a real tropical twist.
Largest Showcase for 2021
Riviera presented its largest luxury motor yacht showcase for 2021 at this year’s show, featuring 12 yachts from 39 to 72 feet. The line-up featured an impressive display, including the 645 SUV in her world premiere, the 575, 505, 445 and 395 SUVs. They were accompanied by the 72 Sports Motor Yacht and her sisterships the 64 and 50 SMY; the 57 Enclosed Flybridge; and the full collection of the Platinum Sport Yachts – the 6000, 5400 and 4800 SY.

Riviera enters a new era with 78 Motor Yacht
In a world-first at the boat show, Riviera also revealed a new era with the announcement of the Riviera 78 Motor Yacht, a completely new design of Riviera motor yacht offering either an open or an enclosed bridge deck. In collaboration with award-winning superyacht designer Luca Vallebona, the Riviera design group is creating a sophisticated yacht that delivers a perfect combination of cruising, entertaining and blue-water passage-making capabilities. The 78 MY will have her world premiere in early 2022.

Riviera welcomes more than 25 owners to the family at Sanctuary Cove
Over the course of the four days, Riviera’s largest showcase for 2021 saw the company welcome more than 25 owners to the Riviera family, purchasing yachts from across the company’s 23-model line ranging from 39 to 78 feet. Impressed by the engineering excellence, world-class quality and luxurious interiors found on the Riviera motor yachts of today, all owners commented that these are the best motor yachts the company has ever built.
Festival of Boating and signature social events bring the Riviera family together
Along with its impressive showcase of motor yachts, Riviera hosted the ninth edition of the Festival of Boating at Sanctuary Cove. The festival was enjoyed by more than 600 owners and their families, and also provided 40 exclusive boating education seminars and on-water workshops for Riviera motor yacht owners. As part of Riviera’s Festival of Boating, Riviera owners also enjoyed a series of exclusive social events, including the Ladies Day Luncheon and Studio Riv, a cabaret night club held over two nights aboard The YOT Club, the superyacht venue within the Riviera display.

Extended warranty program announced
Riviera’s dedication to excellence has been further advanced with the announcement at this year’s boat show that the company’s industry-leading support for motor yacht owners has been further strengthened by a comprehensive new extended warranty program.
Riviera is now providing even greater peace of mind by increasing from one, to two years, its Express Limited Warranty, which covers all non-structural components. The warranty provides 800 hours or two years coverage, whichever comes first from the moment a new owner takes delivery of their motor yacht.
The company has also extended the Structural Limited Warranty on Riviera motor yachts to seven years or 2,800 hours, whichever comes first. This additional owner assurance is further enhanced by the five-year limited warranty on Volvo Penta and MAN-powered yachts being inclusive on all Riviera models. This positions Riviera’s extended warranty program among the most comprehensive in the world for luxury motor yachts.

Australian Exporter of the Year Award
Reflecting the international popularity of Riviera motor yachts around the world, Riviera was honoured at the Australian Marine Industry Awards, being announced Exporter of the Year for 2021 at this year’s Australian Superyacht, Marine Export & Commercial Marine Conference (ASMEX) held at Sanctuary Cove. Riviera is proud to hold the largest forward orders in its 41-year history and the Australian Marine Industry Award represents a decades-long heritage of boatbuilding evolution during which Riviera has launched more than 5700 motor yachts globally.
“Our team takes great pride in showcasing Riviera’s passionate commitment to creating the ultimate boating experience for our owners,” said Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst.
“The comments we received and the conversations we had during the boat show and our Festival of Boating were greatly appreciated.
“As a world-class Australian company, we are extremely proud of the responses we received throughout the show. We consistently heard that the Riviera yachts of today are the best we have ever created, and this attests our ongoing commitment to boatbuilding excellence.”

New Zealand’s Riviera representative R Marine Flagship also hosted a record-breaking boat show at its Auckland On Water Sales Arena, reinforcing the strength of the Riviera brand and following in New Zealand. With the continued reluctance of New Zealanders to travel internationally, the timing of this boat show supported Riviera’s significant display, new releases and events during Riviera’s Festival of Boating at Sanctuary Cove. The three-day event was simply sensational with overwhelming numbers and interest from all over New Zealand.
R Marine Flagship - New Zealand boat show celebrations
Featuring a showcase of 13 Riviera luxury motor yachts from 39 to 72 feet, the Riviera Cove International Boat Show was held from Friday, May 21.

Saturday night was party time for R Marine Flagship’s Riviera Cove International Boat Show, with the team bringing a touch of the tropics to Auckland’s waterfront. More than 160 guests were welcomed with the enchanting sound of a conch shell and drums across the arena before partying into the night at the popular event with sensational live entertainers.
Simon and Cherie Rhind were among the Riviera motor yacht owners who enjoyed the festivities.
“We are new to boating and we feel like we have slotted into this amazing, fun and welcoming family,” says Simon. “They are all so passionate and have given us so much confidence moving forward in our new boating adventure. Did I mention how much fun we had at the owner’s party on Saturday night?”
“We are overwhelmed with the support and enthusiasm from every one of our Riviera owners and those who attended during the three-day event. We are so proud to be the New Zealand Home of Riviera,” says R Marine Flagship’s principal Dean Horgan.
Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst commended Dean Horgan and Suzie Eade for creating another ultimate boating experience for the Riviera family in New Zealand.
“It is a measure of the dedication they have to their Riviera motor yacht owners and it is a credit to the entire team at R Marine Flagship,” says Mr Longhurst.
