The 2025 display will also host the exclusive Riviera owners Festival of Boating education program across four days aboard a Riviera yacht and in a dedicated training hub, all based at the show from October 29 to November 2, 2025.
This year’s first R Marine Jones experience in January was a four-day celebration of camaraderie and learning—perfectly balanced with generous servings of oysters and champagne. Over 20 Riviera luxury motor yachts arrived at the Moreton Island haven from the Gold Coast and as far as Mooloolaba, ready to relish breathtaking sunsets on the sandbar and unforgettable moments with newfound friends. It was a weekend that truly captured the spirit of the Riviera boating community.

With only a little over two years of experience at the helm, Ted Cheng is the first to admit he’s a bit of a boating ‘newbie’, and that the support offered by R Marine Jones is priceless. “Honestly, without these events, people like us would never be able to build the confidence we need, make friends on the water, and enjoy what Riviera life can offer,” Ted says. “But because of them, we have such a fantastic time.”
“A highlight at Kooringal for me was having the whole family together on our new 46 Sports Motor Yacht, Sapphire,” he adds. The Chengs began their Riviera journey in 2022 on a 445 SUV. “We were so happy to support a local business with a great reputation, and when we rang the crew at R Marine Jones, we told them we had no experience—none at all—and they were amazing at helping us every step of the way. We clocked up 100 hours on the 445 SUV.”
“We miss it, but the 46 SMY we have now has a bit more real estate, and we love it. The flybridge is spacious—it’s fantastic. At Kooringal, we loved fishing off the back; it was our first time fishing for squid. It was really fun but a bit messy,” he laughs.

The Kooringal Summer Experience brought Riviera owners together to explore, have fun, unwind and enjoy their luxury yachts.
The R Marine Jones crew were on hand, offering cruising, travelling and anchoring tips and education throughout the four-day event.
“The whole trip around Moreton Bay was just beautiful. The Jones team also ran a Q&A session that was great. Just sharing so much information and learned knowledge was very helpful. But overall, we enjoy getting to know other people—boaters are very friendly. And of course, more time behind the helm is important. The more you do it, the more confident you become. Knowing the boys are there—a text or call away—was very reassuring. Hats off to the team, they run a very well-organised event, make everyone feel comfortable, and go out of their way to make sure if something happens, they’re right there to solve any issues.”
Moreton Bay’s pristine natural environment made the perfect backdrop for the long weekend.
With their home and Riviera on the water in Cleveland, Jay and Helen Stevenson joined the fleet heading for Kooringal near Peel Island, aboard their Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht, Blu Jay.
“We joined the conga line at Peel Island; it was a pretty impressive sight, to see the line of Riviera luxury motor yachts cruising by. We found a gap to slide into, got up to speed, and we were away.”
The Stevensons value the opportunity to form new connections and friendships. “We especially loved meeting Phil and Jodie Jarret through friends. They have a Riviera 50 called Heat Seeker, and we spent a lot of time with them, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The first night, the tide was out, so Phil, Jodie, Helen and I grabbed our chairs and headed to the sandbar to watch the sunset. The next night, we suggested it to a few others, and they came down. By Sunday night, there were heaps of people down there. We probably met another half a dozen other couples who we may have seen around Moreton Bay before, but this time we were able to connect and make friends.”
Lunch at Kooringal’s colourful Gutter Bar and an afternoon shucking oysters rounded out the weekend.
Lunch at the famous Gutter Bar in the tiny town of Kooringal, a tender explore through shallow waterways to spot fish and stingrays, and a fabulous oyster extravaganza rounded out the luxury long weekend.
“The guys put on a great big oyster-shucking event, with over 20 dozen oysters done three ways. It was a really nice touch!
“We’ll definitely continue doing these events. We had such a nice, relaxing time. We live on the water, we love the water, and being able to have our own luxury apartment on the water and move around from place to place is a great thing. The best thing we can do is to keep enjoying our Riviera.”
