Sunshine, Prosecco, fine food and 100 Riviera women ensured a memorable afternoon of friendship, colour, and celebration.
Beneath a sun-drenched May sky, a stylish scene unfolded at Sanctuary Cove, capturing the colour and charm of a moment plucked straight from the Amalfi Coast. Elegantly dressed, a vibrant gathering of over 100 Riviera women from around Australia celebrated their shared love for the Riviera life.
“It’s this blend of impeccable service and meaningful human connection that continues to define Riviera,” Joanna Butler reflected. “And nowhere was that spirit more alive than at this exquisite luncheon – a celebration not only of motor yachts and beauty, but of belonging.”
The Prosecco & Friends luncheon saw ladies from around Australia welcomed to the garden deck of Ioesco restaurant with delightful canapes and glasses of limoncello and chilled flutes of Prosecco, as lively conversation flowed as effortlessly as the bubbles in each glass. For many, it was a chance to reconnect, whilst for others this was a perfect setting to start some new boating friendships.

A fun highlight of the afternoon was the themed photo opportunity, featuring two Vespa scooters that added some real Italian flair. Laughter and some fun poses followed, as the ladies immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere. This popular and ‘sold out’ annual event was more like a family reunion than a formal event.
Among the ladies was Trish Bonnici from Queensland’s Bribie Island, owner of Xanadu, a Riviera 4600 Platinum Sport Yacht, who experienced a warm welcome into the Riviera family.
“This year was my first Riviera ladies’ luncheon, and I really enjoyed it,” she shared. “I arrived a little early and waited in the garden deck area, which gave me the chance to meet some lovely women. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, it made me feel instantly at ease.”
In the main dining room the ladies were treated to an Italian feast. Starters included Pizza Rossa with Napoli sauce and garlic, Queensland king prawns in garlic butter and chilli oil, and creamy burrata served with figs, heirloom tomatoes, vincotto and basil paired beautifully with an Italian Pinot Grigio “Farina Le Pezze”, offering notes of plump fruit and a minerally freshness.
“Once we were seated, I joined Melinda, Amy, and a few ladies I hadn’t met before. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and inviting,” Trish said. “It was really lovely getting to connect with other women who share the same passion for boating and Riviera yachts.”
From garden deck to Italian dreamscape, Prosecco & Friends sparkled with fun Vespa social photos, limoncello, and lively conversation.
Trish especially enjoyed the camaraderie, and the stories shared around the table.
“It’s so nice to hear about other ladies’ adventures and experience on the water. It’s also helpful to ask questions, like what someone did in a tricky situation as First Mate or crew. These shared insights are invaluable.”
Across the restaurant, the conversation and laughter flowed. Joanna Butler, from Mandurah Western Australia has been in the Riviera family for over a decade. Now the proud owner, along with her husband, Steve, of their 10th Riviera aptly named “Oceans 10” a 585 SUV.
“The atmosphere was so Mediterranean summer from the moment we approached the restaurant. It was like being transported to a terrace in Positano.”
With flutes of Prosecco in hand, the ladies shared stories, swapped adventures, and toasted new friendships.
A feast of flavour and friendship – with generous servings of the Riviera spirit.
Joanna was attending with fellow Riviera owners from Western Australia, she shared, “We all had different stories – some of us were new to Riviera, others had moved up over time. It was so inspiring. We joked we should create a ‘Food prep on your Riviera’ Facebook group page or even ‘Riviera fashions on the water’!”
“It’s this blend of impeccable service and meaningful human connection that continues to define Riviera. And nowhere was that spirit more alive than at this exquisite luncheon – a celebration not only of motor yachts and beauty, but of belonging.”
Once seated in the main dining room an Italian feast began, starting with Pizza Rossa with Napoli sauce and garlic, Queensland king prawns in garlic butter and chilli oil, and creamy burrata served with figs, heirloom tomatoes, vinocotto and paired with fine wines.
“I found the luncheon not only great fun, but also really informative,” added Trish. “I’d absolutely love to attend more events like this in the future.”
“I don’t have many friends who are into boating, so it’s hard to share experiences with people who don’t really understand. That’s why it’s so special to be among others who truly get it.”
The afternoon concluded on a decadent note with a rich, creamy classic tiramisu. As the ladies began to part, the five lucky door prize winners collected their gifts and hugs goodbye flowed naturally, a sparkling send-off in true Riviera style.
