As Autumn settled over the Chesapeake Bay, an enthusiastic group of 30 friends aboard 14 Riviera luxury motor yachts gathered in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor for the annual Riviera Rendezvous, a highlight of the season for many. With clear skies and calm waters, Harbor East Marina became home to the luxurious fleet and its owners, all eager to celebrate their appreciation for Riviera yachts and community spirit.
For soon-to-be first time Riviera owners, Joe and Lorie Quinn, the Rendezvous marked the beginning of their Riviera journey. Although their Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition was still in production, they felt warmly welcomed. “It was great to meet other Riviera owners,” says Joe. “We were the newbies, but everyone was so welcoming. It made us even more excited to officially join the Riviera family.” Lorie echoed his enthusiasm. “I kept thinking, ‘Okay, hurry up, let’s go! We want it already!’ Everyone loves their Riviera, and they had such positive things to say.”
Joe and Lorie were particularly struck by the attention to detail in each of the Rivieras at the Rendezvous. “It’s a real step up in luxury, something we really like,” says Joe, while Lorie shared that their new boat would transform their boating style, allowing them to venture farther along the coast, from New York to Florida and beyond. While touring the factory in Australia last year, the couple were won over by the seaworthiness of a Riviera, the quality of their craftmanship and the loyalty of the highly qualified and capable staff. “It’s a whole new lifestyle of boating,” says Lorie. “And it’s just gorgeous.”

Riviera Rendezvous events are known for creating and developing a tight-knit community of like-minded people who are happy to share their valuable tips and advice. Joe and Lorie were appreciative of everyone’s helpful insights into storage, organisation, insurance, and experiences aboard.
The weekend was meticulously organised by Ned and Lorrie Dozier, who co-ordinated everything from dockside breakfasts with a private omelette chef to group dinners at Baltimore’s finest seafood spots.
Fred and Carol Schober are veterans of these gatherings on their Riviera 5400 SY, At Last. “The camaraderie is just amazing,” says Fred. “You meet people with similar interests, and it’s always nice to connect over cocktails or dinner. We’ve made close friends, and some of our boating buddies have even gone on extended trips with us.”
For the Schobers, the return to Harbor East Marina was also a trip down memory lane, as they once called this marina home. “It’s a fantastic location, with easy access to historic areas, amazing restaurants, and local attractions,” says Carol. “We spent our free time catching up with friends over lunch at Thames Street Oyster House in Fells Point – a beautiful way to revisit old haunts.”
Even with a variety of events planned, the atmosphere remained relaxed, giving everyone the flexibility to choose their own adventures. “Some people took a walk through the park, others explored Baltimore’s historic area, and there was always a group on the docks sharing tips and stories,” says Carol. “It’s that perfect blend of structure and freedom.”

Another couple, Adrian and Mary Corbiere, arrived in style aboard their Riviera 445 SUV aptly named Rivin’ It Up. “To get there we had to pass through where the [Francis Scott] Key Bridge used to be,” says Adrian, referring to the infamous partial collapse of the bridge in March 2024 when a container ship struck one of its piers.
“The way Ned had set up all the docking, we were all lined together, so it was easy to bump into each other and hang out. All our breakfasts on the dock were together, and the cocktail parties and dinners. We’ve been to many gatherings with Ned over the years, and he’s such a fantastic host,” says Adrian. “Everyone is relaxed and enjoying each other’s company. We even discovered a fellow Riviera owner who belongs to our golf club – small world!”
From newcomers to seasoned Riviera owners, the East Coast Rendezvous embodies the best of Riviera ownership: beautiful motor yachts, thoughtful design, and a community that feels like family. The Chesapeake Bay, with its serene waters and picturesque ports, offers the perfect backdrop for these gatherings. As Carol Schober puts it, “For us, a Riviera is more than just a boat – it’s a lifestyle we love sharing with others.”
