2018 - RIVIERA 72 SPORTS MOTOR YACHT
Riviera’s new Sports Motor Yacht design was eagerly embraced internationally when the 68 was launched at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in 2017 and she was followed one year later by the flagship 72.
The new model offers every aspect of the magnificent 68 – quality, luxury, technology, power and style with the addition of greater cockpit space.
The expansive cockpit is extended to provide a total of 16.32 square metres (53.54 square feet) – four square metres (13.12 square feet) larger than her sibling. The wide alfresco deck provides twin fold-out timber dining tables, offers the flexibility for an intimate setting for a couple or one large entertaining space with additional occasional seating for family and friends. A twin L-shape lounge provide comfortable seating aft and along the sides of this covered and protected area that overlooks the cockpit. Swing-out stools forward create a breakfast or cocktail bar and with the large stainless steel-framed glass awning window open, the galley is perfectly positioned to serve this bar and the vast alfresco deck.
Stepping into the saloon, the aft U-shape galley includes every fixture the most discerning gourmet chef could desire.
Forward of the galley is a large dining area on the starboard side with timber fold-out table. A second L-shaped lounge stretches along the port side making the saloon a very social space.
A water-tight pantograph door in the port side of the saloon area leads directly to the wide walk-around deck that is a feature on either side of the yacht.
A wide timber staircase beside the galley leads up to the flybridge while a companionway forward leads to the accommodation deck that offers four cabins including a full-beam master suite, three bathrooms and a utility room or crew quarters.
America’s Power & Motoryacht magazine said, ” I was impressed by how intuitive everything was, and the effortless way the boat handled”.
Club Marine magazine described her as a “peerless – and near flawless – flagship”.
Ocean magazine’s reviewer stated that “it will be a stylish standout in any port or anchorage it graces”.
She featured on the front cover of Pacific Powerboat.
To date, Riviera has built 11 of these magnificent yachts.
The Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht is powered by twin shaft-drive MAN V12 turbo diesel engines rated at 1,800 hp each. There is an option of twin MAN V12’s rated at 2000hp each.
