2013 - RIVIERA 565 SUV
The Riviera 565 SUV was the second of a new line for the motor yacht builder, developing the concept unveiled with the 445 SUV and offering additional space including a full-beam midships master stateroom with en-suite bathroom, a forepeak VIP guest stateroom and a third cabin with pullman berths plus a second bathroom.
As Asia-Pacific Boating stated: “It is a perfect amalgamation of Riviera’s sport yacht and flybridge lines, that brings them together in one very exciting and well-conceived package.”
This SUV included a large cockpit with a barbecue unit built into the transom and a raised mezzanine with lounge seating to port below an awning window that connected directly to the galley. A wet bar with fridge are located the starboard fore quarter.
The saloon included a large U-shape galley in the aft port quarter, superbly equipped with an induction cooktop, convection microwave, drawer fridges and dishwasher, a storage and entertainment unit opposite, lounge and dinette with large fold-out timber table amidships and a superb helm area forward with two or the option of four plush Pompanette helm chairs, the centre two chairs swivelled, ranged across the forward saloon.
Club Marine magazine described it as “a welcoming boat, with plenty of capacity for socialising”.
Trade-A-Boat said that she was “an elite, functional, immensely seaworthy and exquisitely handsome body”.
The Riviera 565 SUV joined the growing ranks of models to utilise the Volvo Penta’s popular and ease of boating propulsion – Inboard Performance System IPS, in this case a pair of IPS 900s delivering 750 hp each.
Eleven of these innovative yachts were built in a short three years after which the 575 SUV superseded this model.
