1992 - RIVIERA 48 OPEN FLYBRIDGE

The Riviera 48 Open Flybridge model was a luxury cruiser that for the first time offered owners the option of an enclosed or open flybridge.

As well, there were a range of accommodation options in three cabins plus two well-equipped bathrooms. The standard layout provided for a master stateroom with double bed amidships on the starboard side, a forward guest double cabin and pullman-style bunks on the port side. The bathrooms were on either side, directly aft of the forward cabin.

Options included a V-berth forward and twin beds in the starboard midships cabin. Mix or match.

The galley included a two-burner electric cooktop, twin moulded sinks, an under bench microwave oven and large fridge. A servery separated the galley from the port side U-shape dinette.

The aft cockpit was ideal for fishing or entertaining while the large flybridge, accessed by a port side ladder, included aft helm station with skipper and companion seats and spacious seating for guests forward.

The Riviera 48 Flybridge Convertible was powered by twin Caterpillar engines rated to 435 hp each, with options for 600 hp versions or Detroit diesels rated up to 625 hp.

Modern Boating magazine’s reviewer concluded: “The 48 is a true flagship of the range that can proudly carry the Riviera name alongside the best of the flybridge convertibles anywhere in the world.”

The company built 169 Riviera 48s over 12 years between 1993 and 2004.
