1997 - RIVIERA 34 OPEN FLYBRIDGE

The Riviera 34 Flybridge was unashamedly a couple’s boat, designed to deliver all the quality and amenity of her larger sisters in a compact package easily managed by two people.

She featured on the cover of Powerboats of the Year magazine’s 1997/98 edition.

Offering a single cabin with queen-size double bed forward. Storage included a large space under the bed accessed via gas struts. This was complemented by shelving on either side of the bed as well as hanging lockers. An en-suite bathroom was equipped with separate shower stall, moulded sink and Vacuflush toilet.

Two steps up from the accommodation deck, the galley came with a two-burner electric cooktop, microwave oven, under-bench fridge and a moulded sink. The main saloon was a further step up with its lower helm station to starboard and a timber dinette table with U-shape lounge.

In the cockpit, a moulded sink and freezer unit was located to port, under the flybridge ladder. The unit swings open to reveal engine-room access.

On the flybridge, helm and companion chairs aft faced a comprehensive control panel while seating forward comfortably accommodated three or four guests.

In Modern Boating’s Powerboats of the Year feature, the reviewer stated: “The 34 offers luxury living in a one-bedroom temple with room to worship the sun outside and the warmth inside.”

Power was provided by twin Cummins diesel engines rated at 315 hp each.
Riviera built 89 of the 34 Open Flybridge over six years.
