2008 - RIVIERA 61 ENCLOSED FLYBRIDGE

When Riviera launched the 61 Enclosed Flybridge in 2008, she set a new standard in luxury appointment and fit out.

Everything from the cockpit mezzanine with a luxurious lounge to the galley with its granite benchtops and top-of-the-range Miele appliances stated that this was a flagship model of considerable quality.

She offered her owners three or four-cabin accommodation and three bathrooms, including a port side midships master stateroom with transverse queen bed, large cedar-lined hanging lockers and en-suite bathroom. The VIP guest stateroom was forward, also providing cedar-lined hanging lockers and en-suite. The three-cabin option used additional space to provide a lounge area in the forward stateroom. The starboard side of the accommodation deck included a single berth and, in the four-cabin version, a cabin with pullman-style bunks. A third bathroom, shared between the two smaller cabins was also the day head.

The large main saloon offered a dinette opposite the large U-shape galley and a leather L-shape lounge with coffee table aft.

The flybridge, too, exuded luxury. A timber internal staircase led to a space nearly as large as the saloon with a curved lounge aft opposite a wet bar. Leather helm and companion chairs faced a wrap-around helm station. An deck aft was accessed via a stainless steel framed glass door and an awning window opened the interior to the deck that included a lounge and a second helm station.

The boating media were impressed. Go Boating described her as “bold and impressive” and “one of the most liveable cruisers yet built”.

Modern Boating’s reviewer mused “if only Riv would lend it to me for a year’s voyage”.

The 61 Enclosed Flybridge was powered by standard twin Caterpillar C18 turbo diesel engines rated to 1015hp each.

Riviera produced eight 61s over five years in production.
