2008 - RIVIERA 38 OPEN FLYBRIDGE
The Riviera 38 Open Flybridge, launched in 2008, offered owners the very latest iteration of a heritage spanning close to 30 years when the first 38 was unveiled. Like her predecessor, she provided two cabins – a forward stateroom with double bed and a second bunk cabin – and a dual-access bathroom.
The cockpit offered space for fishing or relaxing and the flybridge, with aft helm, was a space for the family to gather during a cruise.
A lot of water had flowed under the bridge since the launch of the first 38 Open in 1981 and the new 38 was highly evolved in comfort, ride, economy and style.
The new model featured a luxurious saloon with a starboard side dinette with L-shaped lounge and a larger L-shaped lounge on the port side aft. The forward galley was equipped with a two-burner electric cooktop, a convection microwave oven, under-bench fridge and plenty of storage.
She included underwater exhausts to reduce noise and fumes.
The 38 featured in boating publications in the US, Russia and South Africa as well as Australia.
Power & Motoryacht commented that she performed with “poise and verve”.
Trade-A-Boat’s reviewer said she was “a refined boat that works simply and works well”.
Power options included twin Volvo Penta turbo diesel engines rated to 370hp or Cummins engines rated up to 380hp each
Riviera produced 31 of this model over five years in production.
