1996 - RIVIERA 40 AFT CABIN

In 1996 Riviera launched its only aft-cabin cruiser, a model that also changed the styling of the flybridge to reflect her dedicated cruising credentials.

The flybridge featured a single forward helm with guest lounges and a wet bar – sink and fridge – at the rear.

The master cabin was at the aft, four steps down from the main saloon. It provided a large double bed, hanging locker and the en-suite bathroom across the starboard side.

Another design option was a lower dinette in the forward accommodation area as an alternative to a third cabin with pullman-style bunks. The main guest cabin forward provided a double bed, hanging locker and a number of lockers on either side of the bed.

The forward bathroom was opposite the lower dinette or cabin, immediately aft of the main guest cabin.

The large saloon offered a U-shape dinette to port with adjustable timber table – coffee or dining. The galley was two steps down from the saloon, equipped with two-burner electric cooktop, under-bench microwave oven, moulded sink and under-bench fridge.

Power was a pair of Caterpillar diesel engines rated to 350 hp.

Riviera built 22 aft-cabin models over five years.
