Plug and Pattern Makers – New Product Development

Riviera Australia manufacture premium luxury motor yachts in the 39’ to 72’ range on the Gold Coast, and are seeking staff to assist with the development of our exciting new models.

Our New Product Development department is currently seeking experienced Boat builders, plug/pattern makers, and trades assistants to join our world class team. As part of the team you will be involved in the complete plug building process from raw materials to moulding.

We are seeking craftspeople who meet the following criteria, or trades assistants that are willing to develop these skills:

• Demonstrate a strong work ethic with prompt and reliable attendance
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and pride in workmanship
• Ability to follow instructions and work within a team environment
• Hand tool experience required, timber machinery experience preferred
• Ability to understand basic drawings
• Experience with surface finishes, sanding and polishing desirable
• Spray painting desirable although not essential
• Willingness to work additional hours as required to meet deadlines
• Mechanically minded

Trades or experience in the following areas may be transferable to plug making and candidates who are willing to learn will be positively received – Spray painting, panel beating, woodworking, carpentry, joinery, machinists, casting pattern making, mould making, tool and die making,  prototyping & model making.
