The Riviera 395 SUV design challenge was to combine the Riviera Flybridge blue water performance, structural strength and cockpit space with the single-level, entertaining-style of Riviera Sport Yachts, with one crucial caveat – to fashion SUV luxury, practicality and sheer style into an under 40-foot package. Faced with the challenge of going further, our design team elected to go wider. Creating a revolutionary new broadbeam hull and deck design that makes so much more possible. Look forward to luxuriating in two generous, superbly appointed staterooms and a large bathroom on the accommodation deck. Life in the saloon takes on new levels of spaciousness and comfort. Adventurer. Explorer. Entertainer. Sleek yet strong in profile, the Riviera design team has clearly excelled. Like all great designs, she is both practical and grand. No onboard space exemplifies the ‘grace and brains’ combination of the 395 SUV better than the cockpit – natural heart of so much onboard action. Take a look around and immediately note its generous proportions. This is a large area for a craft of its size. Large enough in fact to seat a gathering of adults in comfort with luxurious fixed and optional seating wellequipped enough by Riviera to cater for all manner of water sports. Pride of place in the cockpit set across the transom, facing forward and accessed from the swim platform, you’ll discover the LED-lit barbecue centre – with sink and food preparation space thoughtfully included. This is the spot to share a meal, jokes and running commentary on the water sport’s action taking place. Located below the barbecue centre is a handy storage hatch. Large enough to store a tender outboard, oars, fenders, lines and fishing rods. Forward to port under the awning window, you’ll discover a comfortable seat with cool box underneath that’s capable of housing a refrigerator or freezer option. On the starboard side, a storage or fish bin is built under the cockpit floor. The icemaker is located in a starboard forward compartment for ultimate catch freshness, cooling celebratory drinks, or both. IT ALL STARTS HERE
Look forward to safe passage whenever you head offshore, wherever you go on board. Making your way to the side decks and foredeck is easy. That extends to guests of all ages, even the four-legged variety. Wide side decks feature thoughtfully-placed handrails, a high side and bow rail and raised 100mm bulwarks, ensuring safety and comfort even in inclement weather. The foredeck’s deep anchor lockers store anchoring equipment concealed from the elements and view. Up on the foredeck, sea life will sparkle and sunsets bedazzle. Relaxation will also evolve to deeply satisfying new levels. Just look at that moulded inset built into the foredeck. It’s purposedesigned to fit the large optional, Riviera double-sun lounge pod. Because easy flowing access and interaction between cockpit, galley and saloon help define classic Riviera SUV cruising. It is alfresco, Australian style. It is also brilliantly designed to allow fast, secure closure between different areas when the weather or elements demand it. Venture inside from the cockpit through the stainless steel framed, tempered and tinted glass centre door. Impressive? Absolutely. As is the large awning window opening out from port side aft, helping connect inside and out. To starboard aft, discover the gourmet galley. Here the happy chef can create using an electric cooktop with underbench convection microwave. A sink, food preparation benchtop and deep drawer fridge are all within easy reach. So too are other guests and all the good times being had on board, inside and out. On the striking, 395 SUV, the days of your chef ‘missing in galley action’ are long gone. Dinner is served in the generous dining area with L-shaped seating, opposite the galley on the port side. With wrap-around views forward, aft and to either side, it’s hard to imagine a more spectacular place to dine. With the lounge opposite, great conversations generally flow in such conducive surrounds. Be warned however, diners can often be lost for words as a flaming, red sun slides into a silver-flecked sea. To cap off a really memorable evening, turn to the TV located forward of the lounge. Viewable from within the saloon and from the cockpit, your entertainment options also include AM/FM radio and CD sound system with iPod interface. LIFE INDOORS

Stepping down the stairs from the saloon, the splendour of the master stateroom impresses. This is an inviting space. Bright and airy, hull windows on both sides fill the room with soft filtered light while an overhead deck hatch introduces fresh sea air if desired. Most notably, this is a space alive with the elegant handcrafted touches that set Riviera yachts apart. The thick pile carpet underfoot cushions while helping create a tone of quiet ambience. The master’s wardrobe to port side aft impresses in highly-polished timber. A thing of beauty. A thoughtfully-designed space to store a range of leisurewear and selection of personal items. Should you be relishing the prospect of an extended break however, handcrafted overhead lockers and shelving on both sides will accommodate all your extra items in style. Feel the need for a little light entertainment? Exercise your option to fit a flatscreen television with integrated sound system, or maintain your stateroom as a private sanctuary. All the adventure and excitement of life on board the 395 SUV is something owners invariably want to share. The guest stateroom is where you’ll accommodate up to three special family or friends. Generous hull windows with opening portholes on either side fill the room with light and fresh air. That’s plush carpet underfoot and LED lighting overhead. There are three adult-sized single berths, two to starboard and the other to port. Simply add an infill and the twin starboard berths quickly convert to a large double bed. Thoughtful touches like this are typical of the you come first Riviera design approach. In this instance, providing owners with a welcome degree of accommodation flexibility and your guests a memorable getaway experience. Guest storage needs are also carefully considered and incorporated. A large, impeccably-finished timber wardrobe is located out of the way, just inside the stateroom’s entry. It stores clothes and valuables in style, while helping create an enhanced sense of stateroom living space. Guests will discover further ample storage options under the twin beds, along with a clever overhead two-metre storage cabinet for rod or life jacket safekeeping. POWER AND TECHNOLOGY Today’s Volvo Penta IPS offers superior propulsion technology, performance and durability. Around the world there are now more than 40,000 IPS units in operation and Riviera has now launched over 1,500 IPS powered luxury motor yachts. Pods are used on such worldly vessels as the Queen Mary II cruise ship as well as large scale commercial craft. This technology has revolutionised pleasure boating. Volvo Penta IPS offers an excellent power-to-weight ratio delivering improved performance, enhanced torque, improved fuel efficiency, simple manoeuvrability, reduced environmental impact and quiet operation thanks to underwater exhausts. In simplified terms, Volvo Penta’s innovative Inboard Propulsion System features twin pod drive units, each of which is capable of turning independently to provide the correct thrust to move the yacht in the exact direction required by the skipper easily controlling the system with either a steering wheel and throttles or a joystick. IPS also offers Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) for station-holding while preparing lines and fenders or while waiting off a fuel jetty, the convenience of autopilot, manual trimming with optional auto-trim, as well as a highlyefficient Anti-Corrosion Protection (ACP) unit mounted to the transom to reduce the maintenance of sacrificial anodes. For even greater ease of boating with Riviera, the latest smart technology is now available on the 395 SUV. The Volvo Penta Assisted Docking system is the next generation of marine automation. It simplifies yacht docking and improves your control for manoeuvring in tight spaces to make docking easy in challenging conditions. With the joystick, you control the boat’s path and speed, while the system compensates for elements such as wind and current. Push the joystick forward and the system lays out a straight path that the boat follows. At any time, you can release the joystick and your boat will hold on a fixed position. Volvo Penta Easy Connect gives you an overview of your yachts and engine data, route information and more, by linking your engine, via Bluetooth, to your smartphone or tablet. Easy Connect consists of two parts – the Easy Connect Interface and the Easy Connect app. The app has functions to share your trips and map, your position or share diagnostic trouble codes with your dealer via email. ENGINEERING PAR EXCELLENCE Access to the flow-coated engine room—with acoustic and thermal insulation and LED lighting — is via a hatch from the alfresco deck. Here you will quickly realise why Riviera is renowned globally for its engine room design. The impressive, commercial air-intake system helps to keep the engine room temperature well below the manufacturer’s formal recommendation, further reducing fuel consumption. Air conditioning units are mounted high so gravity feeds condensation water into the common drain lines located on either side of the yacht, draining aft and overboard. All onboard drains also feed into these common drain lines while the advanced mist-elimination system with vanes draws moisture from the air and feeds directly overboard. Automatic bilge pumps with manual override are located at various points throughout the hull and pump directly overboard. There is even a dedicated space for a gyroscopic stabiliser —another example of how Riviera embraces innovation to make boating even more enjoyable. ELECTRICAL EXCELLENCE All batteries onboard are housed in special battery boxes in accordance with The American Boating and Yacht Council (ABYC) and European Union’s CE industry standards. Lithium-ion batteries can be optioned on the 395 SUV. The house power is 24-volt which allows for simpler charging, lower current draw and smaller cables (further reducing weight) than equivalent 12-volt systems. The Mastervolt inverter provides power to the icemaker, entertainment systems and selected outlets onboard, ensuring watching television while relaxing quietly at anchor is whisper-quiet. LED lighting is utilised throughout and provides trouble-free boating while reducing electrical current draw. The lamps use less than 10 per cent of the power required to run a halogen lamp — no bulbs means no maintenance and a long service-life. Additionally, the Residual Current Device / Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (RCD/GFCI) provides protection over the entire yacht and also complies with ABYC and CE standards.
CZONE SIMPLICITY The fully integrated CZone digital switching system enhances the ease of monitoring and control of the 395 SUV’s onboard systems, including tanks, and extends centralised touchscreen operation to lighting, pumps, batteries, entertainment systems and appliances. CZone allows owners to operate multiple circuits at a single touch, energising all lighting and electrics depending on your requirements. It comes pre-programmed with three modes - ‘Entertaining’, ‘Cruising’ and ‘Dock-unattended’ — and these modes can be customised. Other userfriendly features include: interior light-dimming; timer controls; automated circuit control; wiper speed and wash functions. There’s also a ‘Service’ mode that shuts down all power and systems. Based on industry-proven Controller Area Network (CAN) technology, the CZone system offers DC and AC switching and over-current protection. Full systems monitoring (with alarms) including AC voltage, current frequency and kilowatts, DC voltage, current and remaining battery capacity, along with fluid tank levels and indication for systems in operation, is clearly displayed on the touchscreen at the saloon entrance. There’s also the option of additional iPad connectivity so you can control CZone from anywhere onboard your yacht. IMPECCABLE PEDIGREE Every Riviera combines superior-strength hand lay-ups with a watertight collision bulkhead forward and independent compartments throughout the hull. Our legendary build quality also features vinylester resin in the outer layer of lamination to increase the ability to withstand water absorption. An isophthalic gelcoat exterior provides an impeccable and hard-wearing surface finish. From the waterline down, the hull is solid GRP with reinforced bottom, keel and chines. Structural core material is used in the hull flanks, main deck and hardtop, while precisely fitted, lightweight resin transfer-moulded small parts have a double-sided gelcoat finish and are pre-fitted for a perfect seal when all the major components are bonded together. Riviera uses only 316 marine-grade stainless steel in all our exterior fastenings. All stainless steel rails feature ground and polished welds to ensure a consistently smooth and mirror finish. Our designers have also placed a firm focus on convenient access to every key maintenance point throughout the yacht so any issues can be quickly identified and addressed, and service costs are kept to a minimum. INDUSTRY-LEADINGWARRANTIES We support all of our yachts with industry-leading warranties — 2-year express limited warranty and 7-year structural limited warranty. In addition, with all our Volvo Penta powered yachts, we offer a 5-year Volvo Penta systems and electronics limited warranty. Life is too short for needless compromise.
